The 2019 Young Collectors Contemporary partnered with The National Civil Rights Museum to host the professional development and community development masterclasses for +20 artists, journalists, and community builders.
Amy Walleston, art critic and Sotheby’s Institute Faculty led the art criticism masterclass workshop, where attendees composed short-form "flash" reviews of an artwork of their choice shown at the 2019 Young Collectors Contemporary.
Writers in attendance included representatives from local and national publications, online, and print.
De Nichols led the community development masterclass with nonprofit professionals, artists, community organizers, and more.
