Sarah Stefana Smith works predominantly in photography, sculpture and installation. Her work has exhibited in spaces including Arlington Art Center (Arlington), Borland Project Space (State College), Gallery CA (Baltimore) and David Spectrum (Toronto). Her artist residencies include the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Feminist Art Conference, Vermont Studio Center, and 40th Street Artist in Residence. Smith received her PhD in from the University of Toronto (2016) and an MFA from Goddard College (2010). She is a Postdoctoral Fellow at American University where she teaches Critical Race, Gender and Cultural Studies and in Art.
